About Me

Photography has opened my eyes to the intricate relationship between nature and wildlife. I’ve marveled at the spiraled precision of sunflower florets, noticed the subtle shades of blue in a blue jay’s plumage, and paused to watch the soft golden light of dawn warm a female mallard and her ducklings. In these moments, I find beauty, design, and peace.

This Missouri Ozarks website brings together my passions for photography, writing, nature, wildlife, and literacy.

As a volunteer reading tutor, I’ve had the privilege of helping children discover the joy of language and the thrill of learning. Through books, they travel to sky islands, explore the depths of the ocean, and meet wild horses that roam sunny coastal beaches. I believe literacy flourishes when readers find stories that spark their curiosity and connect with their unique interests.

On January 23, 2023, I published a children’s picture book, Zip: An Eastern Chipmunk. The book blended photography and storytelling during a season of personal healing. I am developing nonfiction wildlife readers designed for children and adult English learners.

Whether you are here to read a digital book, learn about Missouri wildlife, or pause for a moment of quiet wonder and reflection, I’m glad you’re here!
